The Amplify series grows from thirty years of research on consciousness, connection, and healing. Its form is the transformation of a simple instant into a space of presence.

The series began with an object: Appreciating the dialogue with Mr. and Mrs. Sashiko (2023), a diptych painted in acrylic on linen mounted on reused tin roofing. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery stitch used to reinforce fabric and make it more resilient. Reproduced here in paint, the two panels required weeks of sustained attention: one error and the work would break. That discipline of presence, the discovery that slowing down completely is not a loss but a form of knowledge, became the seed of everything that followed.

 

Montana (2023) is where the series moved from linen to video. A video installation of two low-resolution videos recorded by the artist using her mobile phone camera, Yellowstone River and Air Balloons, played on loop on four screens. Exhibited at Galeria Dezoito, São Paulo, 2023.

With a cell phone in hand, the artist records what calls to her: a reflection, a gesture, a cut in light. No tripod, no high resolution, no technical perfection. The breath is the technique: ninety seconds of focused attention to amplify the present moment. Only the human, the imperfect, the real.

With Don't air dirty laundry in public (2024, Venice), the digital drawing intervention arrived for the first time. After filming, the artist watches the video and draws over what she sees, amplifying a second time what the first attention revealed. The Sashiko gesture, now fully digital. The series found its mature form.

​

Each 90-second video is an act of attention. The first step in the ACT practice is awareness: becoming conscious of what is actually here, in this moment, before interpretation or judgment arrives. Amplify applies that same discipline to the act of seeing. What was ordinary expands.

​

In a world designed to fragment attention, choosing to look slowly is itself a form of resistance. Amplify makes the invisible visible.
